Adventure Hook
A silver crown has fallen into the town well. Every spoken wish near the well becomes real for ten seconds, and the goblin prince below is building a kingdom out of bad suggestions.
Read-Aloud Opening
“The village square chants over an old stone well. A crown glitters far below. Someone yells, 'I wish the mayor was a frog!' and the mayor becomes a furious frog for exactly ten seconds. Then a tiny royal voice from the dark says, 'More wishes! Your prince commands it!'”
DM Brief
- This is built for TikTok Live: short choices, repeated visual gags, and simple stakes that a late viewer understands immediately.
- If you take audience suggestions, filter them through the well as harmless-but-chaotic effects: color changes, tiny storms, reversed gravity, dramatic entrances.
- The goblin prince is not evil; he is overwhelmed by unlimited wishes and needs the party to impose a rule.
30-Minute Pacing Notes
- 0:00–4:00 show three rapid wish effects and let every player react once.
- 4:00–12:00 Scene 1 teaches the ten-second rule; keep the audience prompt optional and never let it replace player decisions.
- 12:00–22:00 Scene 2 should look absurd on camera: buckets fly, rope talks, frogs accuse people of treason.
- 22:00–30:00 Scene 3 asks for one clear ruling: who gets the crown, and what rule governs wishes after tonight?
Clip-Worthy Moments
- A random background NPC gets one dramatic wish that solves one problem and creates a funnier one.
- The crown briefly declares the quietest player 'temporary monarch' and everyone must obey one harmless decree.
- A goblin court applauds wildly when a player makes a clever argument, even if the villain hates it.
- Final close: the well grants one tiny cosmetic wish to each hero as the village cheers.
Scene 1 — Ten Seconds of Trouble
8 minutes“Coins rattle upward from the well like rain in reverse. A chicken wearing spectacles shouts, 'Order! The royal court is now in session!'”
Goal: Teach the wish mechanic and point the party down the well.
What Happens
- • Any wish spoken within 30 feet of the well becomes real for ten seconds, then snaps back with a harmless pop.
- • The bucket rope is alive and will lower the party if addressed with royal manners.
- • A DC 11 Arcana check reveals the crown is amplifying sound, not granting permanent miracles.
Checks
- • Persuasion DC 10 convinces the crowd to stop shouting long enough for the party to act.
- • Performance DC 12 turns the chaos into a chant that stabilizes the bucket descent.
Scene 2 — The Upside-Down Court
10 minutes“The well shaft opens into a damp throne room. Goblins in bottle-cap helmets cling to the ceiling, and the silver crown spins over a mushroom throne like a moon with opinions.”
Goal: Let players negotiate or brawl through comic spectacle.
What Happens
- • Prince Pib wants to keep the crown because it makes everyone listen to him for the first time.
- • Three goblin courtiers repeat the last sentence any player says, causing it to become a ten-second wish if phrased as 'I wish'.
- • The party can win Pib over by offering him a title, a rulebook, or a better way to be important.
Checks
- • Insight DC 11 notices Pib is lonely, not malicious.
- • Acrobatics DC 12 navigates the upside-down chamber without falling into the mushroom soup moat.
Scene 3 — The Crown Makes Content
12 minutes“The crown cracks like a bell. Every wish spoken today swirls into a bright, noisy copy of itself: frogs, coins, fake thunder, flying hats, and one very confused duplicate mayor.”
Goal: Stop the Wish Echo and decide the well's new rule.
What Happens
- • The Wish Echo attacks the loudest creature unless someone uses an action to speak a clear rule into the crown.
- • A rule must be simple enough for a child to repeat, such as 'one wish per moon' or 'only wishes that help someone else'.
- • If Pib is treated kindly, he uses Help once per round by commanding his court to chant the party's rule.
Checks
- • Arcana or Religion DC 12 binds the new rule into the crown.
- • Persuasion DC 13 gets the whole court and crowd repeating the same rule for advantage on the binding check.
